Greetings, True Believers, and Happy World Password Day!
Today I'd like to remind you to review your passwords and see if you can make them stronger. Yes, changing our passwords is a pain in the hynie but MUCH better than apologizing to everyone on Facebook for that inappropriate mail-order bride post made from y our account because it was hacked.
Do you have a pet? Does your password contain your furry baby's name? I got Max in 2021. max2021 seems like a good passphrase that "nobody" could guess and I can remember, right? Nope. it takes a computer less than 1 second to hack that passphrase. If I write a sentence like this: !M@xW3ntT0Th3St0r3? "Max went to the store" all vowels were replaced with numbers and symbols, each word was capitalized, and the sentence was boxed in characters. Now it takes a computer 3 hundred sextillion years to hack my password. Get the idea?
So please check your passwords and if you are using "Iloveyou" or "Ilove(wife's name here)" please change it right away. Want to test how strong your password could be? Try this security engine over at Security.org
...of course don't enter the ACTUAL password you want just use this tool to help you get an idea!
Don't want to try remembering every password for every account you have? There are awesome password managers out there that you can use. That way you just create a really strong password for your password manager and then let your password manager generate and retain all of your passwords in an encrypted file! Want to learn how? Stop and see me and I'll get you into a powerful password manager, configure it for you, AND show you how to use it!
Excelsior!
